The sea is half a mile away and the coast is unspoilt. Bathing and walking are there for on your doorstep. Riding is easily available. Lyme Regis, 6 miles to the west, offers sea excursions in summer as does West Bay, 6 miles to the west, where there are 2 very good fish restaurants. Bridport, ten minutes away to the east by car, is a charming small town where again there are excellent places to eat. Dorset is famous as the setting of Hardy's novels.
