The wild Cheviot hills are on the doorstep. Safe road cycling is available all round, and especially up the valley beside the tumbling waters of the Coquet. The delightful small market town of Rothbury is 8 miles away and offers restaurants, pubs, and many interesting shops. In July the traditional music festival draws huge crowds.
